The Highland Lassies are taking part in an exciting challenge to raise money for Marie Curie. We are a group of friends and family who will be cycling from Vietnam to Cambodia. Starting off on 12th October in the colourful city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, cycling upto 100kms each day to reach the historic Angkor Wat in Cambodia over a period of 8 days. The Challenge, as always, will be very tough, in temperatures of over 30 degrees! This will require many hours of training, over several months, in order to achieve the level of fitness required to complete the ride. Some of us are seasoned cyclisys, while others have not been on a bike for over 20yrs!
We understand that many of us are involved with our own charities, however, we would ask that on this occasion, if you can, please support us, no matter how small a donation. In addition to our own JustGiving sites, we are holding various fund-raising events throughout the year.
We are raising money for Marie Curie. Marie Curie Nurses are beacons of hope for people living with a terminal illness and their families across the UK. Now more than ever Marie Curie Nurses and our frontline staff are needed to provide vital care, expertise and compassion to dying people and their families, in their homes across the Highlands of Scotland. Their services such as the Support Line and Check In and Chat have also helped people who are struggling with any aspect relating to terminal illness.
