Raising money for Hope for the Young

We are trying to reach a total distance of 4000 miles throughout the month of October to help refugees access education.

Story

Brothers in Law Ali & James will be walking around the Isle of Wight over two days. They will cover a distance of approximately 65 miles, which is a similar distance that tens of thousands of Syrians take in the final leg of their journey in fleeing Syria and reaching the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan.

Ali&James will be battling the natural elements, steep cliff faces, lack of fitness, hunger and ultimately having to hang out with each other for that length of time.

At present their training regime consists of Ali walking his dog and James completing the many errands that his wife(Ali's sister) orders him to do(unsuccessfully). Please give generously as both will be pushing the limits- physically and definitely emotionally and help them support the invaluable work that Hope for the Young carries out.

The young people Hope for the Young supports have fled war, persecution and bereavement. They have travelled thousands of miles from their homes to reach safety in the UK, often on their own. Many have experienced traumatic events that make it hard to cope with day-to-day life. Hope for the Young supports these young people to access education when they arrive in the UK by providing financial support, advocacy and one-to-one mentoring. Based on an average distance of the young people's journeys including; Eritrea (4,999 miles), Afghanistan (4,676 miles), Iran (3,410 miles), Syria (2,829 miles), Vietnam (5,734 miles) and many others, we are joining Hope for the Young's Team Challenge event to try and reach a combined distance of 4000 miles throughout the month of October. Your donation will go directly towards helping young refugees access education and rebuild their lives. Thank you so much for your support.
