John was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in October 2019 and our support group has played a vital role in coping with his diagnosis. Our group has gone from strength to strength and after a lot of hard work by our wonderful nurse Jeanette Smith and the support group Committee we have now gained charity status. Apart from providing support for men diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer and their partners/carers one of our aims is to raise funds for much needed equipment at Maidstone Oncology Department to improve and support the treatment of those diagnosed with cancer.

John is committed to raising awareness of prostate cancer and funds for the charity and he and a group of amazingly brave friends are doing a tandem sky dive from 12,000 ft at Headcorn Aerodrome on Sunday 20 July 2025.
