Story
With the war spreading across Sudan, it is now the largest displacement crisis on earth. The armed conflict has displaced an estimated 15 million people, 53% of whom are children. Many are living in temporary camps where conditions are abysmal.
Famine is spreading fast and desperate families face a daily struggle to get food as young children starve to death in cities, villages and displacement camps
Around 28,700 people are estimated to have been killed, but the real death toll is likely to be much higher as fatalities are believed to be underreported. The death toll from hunger, disease and lack of basic services could rise far higher.
Communities are reporting horrific violence such as mass rape of women and civilians being enslaved or buried alive. Diseases such as cholera and dengue fever are also rife, as most people lack access to healthcare.
The people of Sudan need our help, so we will be running the Half Marathon in Marrakech on the 25th of January to help fundraise, support would be very much appreciated:)
