Alzheimer’s is a brutally cruel disease that affects so many people, not only the carrier but the loved ones too. It has truly torn us as a family after living with this along side our beloved dad / grandad who was diagnosed with this horrible condition 7 years ago, and whom we sadly lost last year.

As a family we are running the Manchester half marathon to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society, a truly wonderful charity extremely close to our hearts.

We can hear him now, ‘What the fiddling heck would you want to run that for’. But we’re doing this for him, in memory of the most magnificent man there ever was.

If you love someone living with Alzheimer’s, then you’re living with it too.
