We are a group of ladies who met a while ago as a result of enjoying knitting. Like most people of our age we have been touched by dementia, whether it be parents or other relatives. So we decided to join the 13 mile walk from Patterdale to Dalemain on the Ullswater way to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Knitting, nattering, stitching and chattering in the pub is good socially, and maybe for gathering sponsors, but not good training for walking 13 miles. We have started walking in the fells. Some of us have done some of this before, but others not. It has been great to get out and introduce people to some of the lower level fells, and we have plenty more planned.
