Story
For those of you who know me well you know how much I love volunteering at my local Donkey Sanctuary. I have been volunteering for over two years now and Lee has been volunteering over three years.
Not all donkeys in the world are as fortunate as ours to be loved and cared for by the dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
Myself and Lee are planning to walk 25 miles in October to support this charity who do such great work with rescued, overworked and traumatised donkeys.
If you are able to spare a pound or two to help these animals it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you for your support. 😀
Every day, donkeys in Egypt and the Middle East toil under harsh conditions—hauling heavy loads, often without adequate food, water, or rest. Many suffer from untreated wounds, exhaustion, and neglect. These gentle creatures are vital to the livelihoods of countless families, yet their welfare is frequently overlooked.
Safe Haven for Donkeys works tirelessly to change this. Through rescue, veterinary care, and education, the charity offers hope and healing. Their sanctuaries in Israel and the West Bank provide a lifelong home for over 200 donkeys, while mobile vet clinics reach working animals in West Bank, Gaza and Egypt towns and villages. With compassion and commitment, Safe Haven for Donkeys is making a real difference.
The Donkey Breed Society Northern Region have partnered with us to encourage people to run, cycle or walk (with or without a donkey) 25 miles to mark 25 years of Safe Haven's work.
Will you join us to transform the lives of donkeys in desperate need?
