This October, we are travelling to India to support the OSCAR Foundation. This charity uses sport and life-skills to set underprivileged children up for success, through playing football and providing education, which ranges from digital literacy to lessons in leadership. We will be volunteering with OSCAR in Mumbai and Karnataka for 3 weeks, working within their sporting and educational programmes to help under-served children achieve their potential.

We will also be raising money for OSCAR through undertaking the Surya Top trek, a 7-day hike through the Garhwal Region of the Himalayas, which reaches 12,900ft. This trek will test our resilience, mental resolve and physical fitness, through which we aim to stand in solidarity with children who face far greater hardships on a daily basis than we can ever imagine.

We have had the privilege of growing up in a comfortable house, with access to excellent education; in other words, we have been set up to succeed. These children, growing up in extreme poverty in slum communities, are deprived of these opportunities, and we want to support OSCAR’s mission to change this. With your help, we can all make a tangible difference to children’s lives.
