I’m doing a memory walk for my mum, Maggie, who suffers from dementia, and my nan, Lillian, who also had it in the latter stages of her life.

I’m doing this walk with my sister Karen.

I didn’t know this before I signed up for the fundraiser, but dementia is apparently the UK’s biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure.

I want to raise awareness and funds for the fight against it, because dementia is cruel, unforgiving and unfair.

I also want to shout out my dad for being my mum’s main carer - the love and support he shows her is incredible.

The Alzheimer's Society has given each of us a target of £175, so I hope you can help me to smash that!
