Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) , is a severe wasting disease that mainly affects boys. Started by families affected by the disease, Duchenne UK is the leading DMD charity in the UK connecting the best researchers with industry, the NHS and families to advance and accelerate every stage of drug development. The charity works continually to develop treatments and a cure for this disease. They continually need funds to achieve their goals.

Why are we doing this ? Both Max and Mike have strong connnections within the Duchenne community going back some years now ; Max through his involvement in Project Hercules , DUK's collaborative global project set up to increase the chances of patients with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) accessing innovative treatments ; and Mike through his connection to a particular family with a Duchenne boy and his commitment to undertake a different endurance challenge each year since 2016 in order to raise funds for Duchenne UK.

Just after sunrise on 18th July 2025, Max and Mike will start and over a period of 50 hours undertake to walk the entire route of the Anglesey Coastal Path , some 130 miles on an unsupported basis, starting and finishing by the Menai Straights Bridge. There will be short breaks for meals and the replenishment of resources .... but this is definately not a "bimble". Both Max and Mike have completed 100 mile endurance events , this challenge is just pushing themselves a" little bit" further.

All money raised will be used to fund research and accelerate drug development and access to these medicines.
