It's over and we did it. 26 miles on the hottest day of the year with no shade. In awe of each and every one of us for making it through!!

The first half was fine. But once it got to around 12 noon, 5 hours of walking completed, and 31 degrees, no shade and with 8 miles to go, it really got hard going. I think I started to get a little bit of heat stroke or similar, but managed to stave it off with electrolytes and more water. Then a big blister popped up on my right foot, so I slapped on a massive plaster, took some ibuprofen and pushed on. Only half an hour to our next rest point in a pub...you just keep on walking!
