Story
Mark died in October, 12 years after his diagnosis with prostate cancer. At the time of diagnosis, the cancer had already spread to his bones, so incurable. But he received great care and support from Guy's Cancer Centre, which meant that he was able to live a fulfilling life over those 12 years, spending time with his family, carrying on with work and enjoying some well-earned holidays.
In his memory, and to raise money for Guy's Cancer Charity, his son Luke, daughter Iona and daughter-in-law Emily will be running the Brighton Marathon 2025. Mark fundraised for Guy's following his diagnosis, completing a 350 mile bike ride over 3 days from Land's End to London and joining another bike ride for the final stage from Dover to London. We would like to continue this effort.
Guy's Cancer Charity works alongside the NHS, providing a range of services including additional personalised care, research, cutting-edge equipment and care at home.
100% of donations will be used to help Guy’s Cancer go further for the people who need it. That’s because the fundraising and administrative costs are covered by Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, and the NHS covers the general overheads of the hospital.
