For a while now we've been looking at supporting a local charity - Hunts Community Cancer Network (HCCN) that is close to the hearts of my wife and I. This is a local charity of volunteers working together delivering home based nursing to people who are living with cancer and providing support for their families.

I recently came across Prostate Cancer UK's Run a Marathon in January programme and I thought this was a great idea and something that is certainly achievable (knees permitting).

While Run The Month is a Prostate Cancer UK initiative (another charity close to my heart) I'll be raising money for both them and HCCN.

So here I go, embarking on a journey that will see me (hopefully) run 26.2 miles throughout January - I'd love to do it in one hit...but I imagine it'll take a few weeks. I've even hooked up Strava so you can keep tabs on my progress.

Any donations will be greatly received and you can choose which charity you'd like to donate to...or if you're feeling particularly generous split your donation between the two.
