Story
This is Graham and Caron‘s story about their little daughter Olivia , and the battle she went through , please have a read and support . Thank you
On July 21st 2019 Our dreams came true when my wife Caron gave birth to our gorgeous little daughter Olivia , although she was premature and born at 28 weeks she was so tiny only weighing 1lb 4oz but she was perfect in every way . She was a little fighter from the start , breathing for herself just after a few days and progressing really well . Unfortunately on the 9th day she became very ill very quickly , and after an operation Olivia was found to have Necrotising Enterocolitis (NEC) which effects the bowels in babies. They did everything they could but the infection was too great and sadly Olivia passed away in our arms on the 31st July .
A group of us are going to be cycling from Morecambe to Bridlington 170 miles to raise money for NEC U.K. A great charity that helps and supports families through this very dark time and also help with the research into this awful condition and try and fine a cause and hopefully a cure for NEC that causes more deaths in premature babies than leukaemia ,and can give other babies a good chance to fight this and to diagnose NEC a lot quicker . Also Making people and especially parents with premature babies more aware of Necrotising Enterocolitis .
