Raising money for LimbPower

LimbPower offer relief to the physically disabled by aiding rehabilitation and improving the quality of life through the medium of recreational and competitive sports and arts, for the locomotor disabled.

Story

Opcare will be supporting the amazing work of Limbpower by trekking to Macchu picchu. There will be a group of 29, including several of the group mobilising using prostheses!

We will be undertaking the expedition from 18th October 2024 with over 4000 m altitudes and challenging terrain and ascents, everyday. This incredible journey, set amidst the towering mountains and breathtaking vistas of Peru, once we have completed the gruelling trek. Organised in collaboration with Charity Challenge, this fully guided and supported trek presents the intrepid hikers with an unforgettable challenge and adventure as they follow the uncrowded Ancasococha trail.

As part of the training schedule, there will be several weekend hikes including Scarfell Pike and Snowdon over the coming months. LimbPower warmly invites the wider community to join the Machu Picchu trek crew to show solidarity and support whilst enjoying the challenge of reaching heights and smashing limitations.
