Raising money for Cure Parkinson’s

We’re here for the cure. Cure Parkinson’s is working with urgency to find new treatments to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s.

Story

We (Felicity, Sue, Nick, Andy, Simon and Mike) raised money for Parkinson's because members of both Felicity and Sue's families have received a diagnosis.

We cycled from Gloucestershire to Essex in two days - a long and hilly journey of around 230k, taking us through the Cotswolds and the Chilterns, and then to flatter lands on the journey towards Essex. We left Westmancote in Gloucestershire on Saturday morning and arrived in Fyfield, Essex, on Sunday evening.

Our route included country lanes, cycle route, tracks and trails, and a smattering of main roads. We enjoyed some great coffee stops (the Cotswolds Distillery is well worth a visit!) and fabulous Saturday night steak and chips at Buckingham's finest Beefeater.

The support we received from friends, family and colleagues was overwhelming. We raised more than £6,600 for Cure Parkinson's - and we had a lot of fun along the way. Thank you so much to everyone that supported us, whether with a donation, encouraging words, or both. We're so grateful.

1 in every 37 people will be diagnosed with Parkinson's. It's the world’s fastest growing neurological condition. But there's currently an alarming lack of knowledge about it and no cure.
