Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Reigate Roadsters JustGiving page.

We're a bunch of cyclists from Reigate, who have ridden together for a number of years.

As we enter 2026, two of us will be turning 60 this year, and it also being the 10th anniversary of our first cycling trip abroad (to Alp D'Huez), we decided we needed to do something bigger than our past trips.

To that end, we have decided to embark on a 10 day cycle from Bilbao in the north of Spain on the Atlantic Coast, to the Rock of Gibraltar on the coast of the Mediterranean in the South - a trip of 1,000km, with 10,000m of climbing.

Our causes:

Prostate Cancer UK

Several of us are, or have been affected by Prostate Cancer ourselves or within our families, and it is therefore a subject close to our hearts. We strongly believe that with the right screening programme, many more lives could be saved from this all too common form of cancer

The Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre

The DMRC was originally started at Headley Court, very close to us in Reigate, and is the birthplace of the Paralympic movement. It has now been moved to Loughborough, and merged with the National Health Service wound rehabilitation centre to form the DNRC (Defence & National Rehabilitation Centre). This is a cause we have supported before, with one of our number, Adrian highlighting the move to Loughborough by cycling from there to Monaco a few years ago.

Please give what you can and support us in our slightly mad trip to cycle Spain from North to South

thanks

Gareth, Chris, David, Paul and Adrian

(and not to forget our generous support driver, James)
