In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate if you donate to one of the 2 charities that provided Rina with support.
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Care
When facing a cancer diagnosis, finding the right medical team is crucial in your journey . Along with their qualifications, it's important to have a strong connection with your primary doctor so they can better understand your needs and priorities. Rina found her team and received treatment for an small cell lung cancer at Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Centre, known for its patient-centered approach and evidence-based methods that combine traditional treatments with alternative practices like mind-body techniques, natural remedies, and lifestyle changes.
MSK is renowned as one of the top cancer centers in the US, and a global leader in understanding and treating cancer. Their doctors are currently leading numerous clinical trials for both pediatric and adult cancers. However, for more rare and hard to treat cancers such as small cell lung cancer, more research is required for improved treatments and outcomes.
From radiation therapy to chemotherapy, immunotherapy to precision medicine, MSK has spearheaded numerous treatment advances over the years. Two particularly noteworthy triumphs include the revolutionary checkpoint inhibitors and the formidable "living drugs" known as CAR T cells but this type of research requires funding.
