Raising money for Held In Our Hearts
In memory of Baby Baur-Airlie

Miles That Matter Challenge · 1 October 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Be part of our Miles That Matter challenge! We’re uniting communities to cover 6,000 miles – the length of Scotland’s epic coastline – this October through walking, running, cycling or swimming while raising £1 (or more if you fancy!) for every mile.

Story

This October, I will be walking 100 miles in memory of my beautiful baby girl, JJ, whom I heartbreakingly lost during pregnancy in April this year. After a brave week of fighting, she sadly passed away due to a severe infection that entered my womb — something no parent should ever have to endure. This walk is a tribute to her short but deeply meaningful life, and a way to raise awareness and support for other families going through similar loss. In the midst of my grief, I received a box filled with thoughtful, handmade gifts — a gesture that brought comfort, warmth, and a sense of connection when I needed it most. Those precious items will stay with me forever, just like the memory of my baby girl. With every step I take this October, I will walk with JJ in my heart, honouring her and helping ensure no grieving parent ever feels alone.

Miles That Matter – Going the Extra Mile Together for Baby Loss Awareness Week

Join us this October as we cover 6,000 miles — the length of Scotland’s beautiful coastline — through walking, running, cycling, swimming, or any movement that feels right for you.

Every mile and every pound raised will help ensure that no bereaved family in Scotland, no matter the distance, goes without the support and healing they deserve. Whether you walk in memory of your baby, team up with friends, or rally your workplace, you’ll be honouring lives lost too soon and showing grieving families they are not alone.

Every mile is a tribute. Every step is an act of love. Every pound helps change lives.
