Story
📅 When: October 1–31, 2025
📍 Where: Across Scotland — wherever you are!
As Baby Loss Awareness Week (9th–15th October) approaches, we invite you to be part of something truly special — Miles That Matter, our first national fundraising challenge to honour our babies and bring our community together.
💜 What is Miles That Matter?
Throughout October, we’ll join together to cover 6,000 miles — the length of Scotland’s breathtaking coastline — by walking, running, cycling, swimming, or moving in any way that feels right for you.
👣 How You Can Take Part - You can join in any way that works for you:
Walk a quiet mile in memory of your baby
Join a family buggy push
Form a team with friends or colleagues for a cycle or run
Jump off your daily commute early and walk
Skate, hike or jump
Any distance, any pace — every mile matters.
We encourage participants to aim to raise £1 (or more if you fancy!) for every mile covered. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.
💌 How to Get Involved
Use the Start Fundraising button on this page to register.
Track your miles using our Strava or simply record them yourself and share your progress by posting in our Team Held In Our Hearts Facebook group every Friday in October so we can celebrate how far we’ve come together.
Let’s walk, run, pedal or swim side by side this October — even if we’re miles apart.
With love,
The Held In Our Hearts Team
