Story
My beautiful son Reggie (age 5months) was diagnosed with CKD5 – complete kidney failure. At just a few months old, Reggie’s journey has already been filled with unimaginable challenges, including the need for both of his kidneys to be removed before he turns one. He will then face a long wait for a kidney transplant, likely around the age of 3 or 4. In the meantime, he will be on peritoneal dialysis
Throughout this difficult time, Kidney Care UK and Great Ormond Street Charity have supported our family in ways we never imagined. They provided accommodation during Reggie’s five-week hospital stay, meal tokens for his mother, and vital grants to help with travel costs. Their generosity has lightened our burden and reminded us we are not alone.
To give back, I’m committed to taking part in as many charity events as possible in the coming years. in 2026 we are Running The Ipswich Half Marathon. Our local event and we would love to have more people on our team. Please feel free to request to join. Every donation will help Great Ormand Street Hospital continue their life-changing work, supporting families like ours through the toughest of times.
Thank you for reading, for following Reggie’s journey, and for any support you can give to this incredible cause.
