Story
Thank you for visiting our Sage Dirty Reiver Team Just Giving page. As part of Sage Foundation’s exciting partnership with CVYP, we are thrilled to support their fundraising campaign to expand the fantastic and unique Chirdon Head Outdoor Centre in Kielder Forest by taking on the Dirty Reiver challenge.
The Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project (CVYP) plays a vital role in supporting the social and personal development of young people aged 8 to 25 years, including those with disabilities. They offer recreational and outdoor activities, accredited schemes like the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and provide guidance and support in a safe and friendly environment.
The Dirty Reiver is not just a ride; it's an experience that combines endurance, skill, and the beauty of the UK's wild landscapes. This challenge is set for 26th April 2025, with an overall target of £40,000, Sage aim to raise a minimum £15,000 to make a significant impact.
A colleague who took part in last year's 200km ride said, starting the ride with just over freezing temperatures but no rain was very lucky. It really made a difference and definitely kept him going over his 12 hours in the saddle, riding most of it solo and only just making the cut off for the 200km route!
This was the equivalent of cycling from the Sage office to Edinburgh city centre off road, while also climbing Snowdon 3.5 times. He burned over 10,000 calories and only had 4 hours sleep the night before. He loved riding with colleagues before they split to do their own distances.
The training for this event is challenging in itself and its the support of family, friends and colleagues that makes a huge difference to the participants.
We invite you to join us in this inspiring journey by showing your support to our team. Your generous donations will directly contribute to enhancing opportunities for young people in our community.
