Story
In 2026, I’ll be taking on more Marathon (42km) and Ultra (50km) walking challenges.
As always, I’m raising money for two causes that mean a great deal to me: St Barnabas House Hospice, who cared for Sal so wonderfully in the final months of her life, and the Sally Scholarship, which Rhiannon and I established in her memory for nursing students at the University of Brighton.
So far, I’ve completed the Virtual London and Jurassic Coast challenges. Still to come are the Cotswold and Gower Challenges, followed by a trek in Iceland in September.
If you’d like to support me, please choose either charity—or both if you wish. More information about each can be found below.
**The Sally Scholarship**
Sally was a much-loved and highly valued member of the nursing administration team at the University of Brighton’s Falmer campus. She was passionate about helping students and enhancing their learning experience.
To honour her memory, Rhiannon and I funded the Sally Scholarship to help nursing students gain valuable experiences beyond their clinical placements and develop a deeper understanding of patients and communities.
The scholarship has already enabled thirty students to take part in placements they otherwise would not have been able to afford.
**St Barnabas House Hospice**
During the final months of her life, Sally was supported by the incredible team at St Barnabas House Hospice.
Based in Worthing, St Barnabas provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care for adults with life-limiting illnesses. Their mission is to ensure that everyone receives the dignity, comfort, care and choice they deserve.
The support Sally received at home made an enormous difference to her and to all of us around her. We will always be grateful for the care, kindness and compassion shown by the St Barnabas team.
