Our wonderful supporters are taking on a variety of challenge fundraising activities in 2026 from skydives to running events for Alcohol Change UK.

Story

Alcohol dependence is as a silent killer in our society. Many people who struggle with it blame themselves, despite addiction being a complex medical condition that changes the brain, making it increasingly difficult to stop drinking. The stigma surrounding alcoholism often prevents people from seeking the help they need, leaving individuals and families to cope alone.

Alcohol misuse affects millions of people and can have devastating consequences for physical health, mental wellbeing, relationships, and entire families. Research has consistently shown alcohol to be among the most harmful drugs overall because of the wide-ranging impact it has on both the person drinking and those around them.

This cause is deeply personal to me. I recently lost my mum after her battle with alcoholism. Watching the impact addiction had on her, and on those who loved her, showed me just how devastating this illness can be. I’m taking on this challenge in her memory and to help raise money so that more people affected by alcohol dependence can access the support they deserve.

If our fundraising can help even one person or family find hope, treatment, or support, then every donation will make a meaningful difference. Thank you so much for your kindness and support
