In October 2027, Hayley Bates and Alyx Mattison will be digging deep and trading miles by joining Team Overgate to take on one of the world’s most incredible adventures - trekking the Great Wall of China! From Taipingzhai to Huangyaguan, we’ll navigate historic sections of this iconic landmark, stretching over 13,000 miles, with breathtaking scenery and panoramic views at every turn.

This trek will be tough. We’ll face steep climbs, rugged terrain, and the famous Heavenly Ladder – a near-vertical staircase that will push our stamina, resilience, and determination. But reaching the watchtowers and seeing the Wall wind endlessly over the mountains will make every step worthwhile.

This challenge isn’t just about the adventure. We're taking it on to raise vital funds for Overgate Hospice, supporting local people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Every donation helps provide expert care, emotional support, and comfort to patients and loved ones during some of life’s most difficult moments.
