We are a group of staff from Southdale Junior School taking on the Wakefield Hospice 10K to raise money for a hospice that is held close to the hearts of many families in our community and far beyond.

Wakefield Hospice supports patients and their families through some of life’s most difficult moments, offering care, comfort, and reassurance when it is needed most. As a school, we know how important strong, compassionate communities are, and this is a cause that reflects those shared values.

This 10K is about more than running. It’s a way to honour loved ones, support families, and show our children the power of kindness and community spirit. Every step we take helps raise vital funds so the hospice can continue providing these essential services. Last year, the event raised an incredible £136,000, and with your support, we hope to help make 2026 even more impactful.
