Miscarriage Association Memory Walk 2023 · 15 October 2023 ·

This year, for the first time, we are asking our supporters to join us for a virtual four mile memory walk on the final day of Baby Loss Awareness Week - Sunday 15th October – setting off together at 4.00pm.

Story

The Lawrence family story; a short while after finding out we were pregnant with our second baby, I started with unbelievable pains around my tummy and back. We visited A&E who referred us for a scan with the EPAU.

The scan revealed the devasting news that the pregancy was eptopic.

Luckily we had caught it early and the baby was still very small, so I wouldn't need to have surgery on this occasion although the option was still there if I wanted to take it.

The Dr's and fantastic midwifes talked us though our options, methotrexate injection which would prevent the baby from growing any bigger or keyhole surgery to remove the fallopian tube.

I took the methotrexate injection, but I can't say that was the easy ways out! Iv had repeated blood test, pain and I can't drink alcohol?! (The worse part 🤭🤣)

I saw this walk was coming up and I was a little sceptical with it all been so close to everything happening (and also not really wanting to tell people), knowing friends who have been in simular situations it will give us all the chance to refect on our stars.⭐️
