Raising money for Trossachs Search and Rescue

Trossachs SAR is a voluntary organisation in Scotland. We attend medical emergencies with the Scottish Ambulance Service. Our Urban SAR dogs attend building collapses with Scottish Fire and Rescue. We assist Police Scotland with missing person searches. We support Clacks & Stg HSCP

Story

The Stirling University Paramedic Society is hosting a 12-hour CPR marathon on campus to raise money for Trossachs Search and Rescue team. The money raised will be put towards public access defibrillators, a vital piece of equipment when faced with cardiac arrests.

According to the Resuscitation Council UK, many people who collapse due to a cardiac arrest can be saved if people nearby carry out the following:

• Recognise what has happened

• Call for an emergency service immediately

• Start and continue CPR – especially chest compressions

• Use a public access defibrillator to shock the heart back to its normal rhythm
