Stirling University Paramedic Society fundraising for Trossachs Search and Rescue
Raising money for Trossachs Search and Rescue
The Stirling University Paramedic Society is hosting a 12-hour CPR marathon on campus to raise money for Trossachs Search and Rescue team. The money raised will be put towards public access defibrillators, a vital piece of equipment when faced with cardiac arrests.
According to the Resuscitation Council UK, many people who collapse due to a cardiac arrest can be saved if people nearby carry out the following:
• Recognise what has happened
• Call for an emergency service immediately
• Start and continue CPR – especially chest compressions
• Use a public access defibrillator to shock the heart back to its normal rhythm
