Raising money for St Catherine's Hospice Preston
In memory of Kirsty Aspinall

St Catherine’s cares for patients and families who are affected by life-shortening conditions, at the hospice and in people’s own homes across Chorley, Preston and South Ribble. Our specialist care helps people enjoy the best possible quality of life to the end of life.

Story

My beautiful cousin Kirsty passed away on 5th December 2023, two days before her 50th Birthday. For the last three months of her life, she was cared for by the amazing staff at St Catherine’s Hospice. The humanity and dignity that the staff both treated Kirsty with as well as her friends and family was just incredible and I for one am very grateful.

That’s why this year I vowed that I would do my charity event to raise much needed funds so that St Catherine’s can continue to do their amazing work and support other families like they did with ours.

Now normally people expect me to do longer/bigger challenges for charity and the longest walk on the night is 8 miles so I pledge to walk 92 miles up to the 22nd June , the last 8 miles being on the night of the walk making it 100 miles. Who knows if I can smash my target I might try and do more!!!🤞🏼Geoff will be joining me in the walk and no doubt a few in between and maybe if we can raise £1000 I can convince him to dress up for the event!!

St Catherine's provides palliative and end-of-life care and support for the people of Central Lancashire, through our specialised services at the hospice and in people’s own homes. We're here to help people facing life-shortening conditions like cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure to enjoy the best possible quality of life to the end of life. It costs more than £5m to run our charity every single year. We rely on the amazing efforts and wonderful generosity of supporters like you to help us raise the funds we need. Thank you!
