Raising money for King's College Hospital Charity

King's Abseil 2025 · 5 September 2025 to 6 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Welcome to Team King’s, where 120 fearless supporters are taking on the King’s Abseil down the Golden Jubilee Wing to support King’s College Hospital Charity!

Story

On the 6th of September collectively as 'The Sunshine Adventurers Team' we will be participating in a charity abseil to raise money for the Paediatric Liver Family Support Fund. The abseil will take place at Kings College Hospital from the top of the Golden Jubilee Wing building.

This fundraising event directly benefits the families of the patients we care for on our paediatric liver unit at Kings College Hospital. The money we raise from our abseiling adventure will be donated directly to the Paediatric Liver Family Support Fund. This money will help to provide financial support to our incredible families during some of the most difficult periods they experience whilst caring for their child with a liver disease diagnosis being treated at Kings. We are one of only three specialist Paediatric Liver Centres in the UK, and pride ourselves on the care and support we provide to children and their families.

This money will help to provide financial support to many of these families during difficult periods they experience whilst caring for their child. This includes social aspects of their care which can be difficult with travelling to appointments, long stays in hospital and extended periods of needing to take time off from work for many of our parents/caregivers. The Family Support Fund allows us to provide additional financial resources to the families who need it the most. This could be to support them with accommodation, transport costs, and various other needs they have during their hospital stay.

We would be so grateful for any contribution to our adventurous little team as we bravely step over the edge of the Golden Jubilee Building. Just like our brave patients and their families who step up to so many challenges that come with the diagnosis and ongoing care of a liver condition.

Thank you from us all for your support.
