After riding the DoverCoaster for most of the summer, we finally got our chance to swim on Sunday 8th October. We started from Shakespeare Beach in Dover at 3:40am and landed at Cap Blanc Nez near Calais 16 hours and 6 minutes later. It was the most amazing day!

The SwimSolutions Starfish team is swimming from Dover to Calais around the 23rd July 2023. 'Around' because channel swims are rather weather dependent! The team consists of Jackie, David, Fiona, Sam and Scott who all train together each week. A few weeks ago we all completed our qualifying swims in under 16C (without a wetsuit!) and we've been doing regular training sessions in Dover. On the day we'll take it in turns to swim for an hour then jump back on our Pilot boat Suva to warm up, eat and rest before our next hour's swim.
