The Coastal Challenge (TCC)

In February 2023, I will be taking part in TCC in Costa Rica; a multi-stage ultra-marathon trail run. Over the 6 days, I will be running a total of 230-250km and ascending around 8,750m, through dense jungle, rain forest, mountain trails, endless beaches, waterfalls, riverbeds and mangroves (&under the Costa Rican sun!!!).

The Maudsley Charity

Since losing Molly 6 months ago yesterday, running has brought me some form of structure and solace amidst the painful chaos that is grief.

TCC will take place over the anniversary of Molly’s unlucky fatal reaction, and of her ultimate journey out of this world. I will be undertaking TCC in her memory, hoping that she’ll see the beautiful landscapes through my eyes, but also as my personal battle as I learn to live a life without Mols in it.

Breast Cancer Now

The month of February 2023, in just over 6 months time, should (hopefully) be the month my wonderful mother gets to say goodbye to chemo. Since her diagnosis, despite the set backs, mummy has continued to be her usual strong, brave, and determined self as she’s been kicking C’s butt. I wanted to do something requiring a little strength and courage on my part (albeit I cannot begin to fathom the amount of strength she has required to get her through until now with a smile on her face) to support mummy alongside her final climb against the disease. As such, I am fundraising for Breast Cancer Now.
