In October I will be doing the Portsmouth Memory Walk for The Alzheimer's Society with Arthur and Henry.

Earlier this year my lovely, crazy and bubbly mum was diagnosed with this awful disease.

I am so proud of how she has dealt with this news and is facing it while still wearing a smile.

I wouldn't wish for anyone to ever have to deal with this, but unfortunately so many people do and it can be so scary and lonely.

Without the support of the Alzheimer's Society and other similar charities, we wouldn't have any of the support we currently do. We have been able to find a number of Alzheimer friendly activities and support groups, both virtual and in person. These are there for anyone affected by the disease, whether they have it themselves or care for someone who does. Just being able to be with and talk to people who are where we are, or who are further into this journey than we are, has been such a lifesaver for both of us.
