Story
Louise Davison is walking 50 miles in 20 hours on 31st May 2026. The “50in20 Challenge" marks 50 years of Farrar Bamforth (the architecture practice where Louise works) and 20 years of the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation (the charitable arm of Wakefield Trinity RFC that Farrar Bamforth has supported for a number of years) – hence 50 miles in 20 hours!
Louise has set herself the challenge to raise money for the Foundation and for Leeds Hospitals Charity, with funds specifically going to the Rob Burrow Centre for MND - a cause that has personal meaning for her having lost a beloved family member to this disease. You can choose which charity you’d like to support when you make your donation or split your donation between the two charities.
The starting point of the challenge is the Farrar Bamforth studio at Bates Mill in central Huddersfield, and Louise will walk to the mid-point of the walk – the Wakefield Trinity stadium at Belle Vue in Wakefield. She’ll then walk back to finish the walk at Bates Mill. All within the target of 20 hours!
This is quite the feat of endurance and Louise is training hard for it. She will have some support along the way though, as various representatives of the Farrar Bamforth and WTCF teams will be participating in some way. You can see the fundraising pages of team members who are hoping to raise funds for their parts of the walk below.
The Wakefield Trinity family is right behind Louise and will be throwing a morale-boosting welcome reception for when she reaches the halfway point at the ground (not for too long as she still has to walk back to Huddersfield!). They’ll also be helping her prepare for it with tips on nutrition, training, endurance, and even the best garments and equipment needed for her epic walk.
Keep monitoring Farrar Bamforth’s socials for updates on Louise’s preparation and progress on her fundraising. She’s set a big target of £5000 across the two charities but we have every confidence that she, and the team, will smash it!
