Raising money for Velindre Cancer Centre

The Maxwell Family Fund held by Velindre, has been created in support of Craig Maxwell and his family to continue to fund new research and developments in the field of genomics and lung cancer.

Story

In 2022, Craig Maxwell, a friend to many of us here at CSM, was diagnosed with incurable and inoperable cancer aged just 40.

Since that diagnosis, Craig and his family have inspired us all by channelling their energy towards raising vital funds that will improve the cancer pathway for patients in Wales, and support research into early diagnosis and treatment of the illness.

For the Maxwell Genomics Fund’s latest fundraiser, Craig is undertaking the Welsh Coastal Path Cancer Challenge, where he will hike 780 miles along the Welsh coast in just 26 days.

We are incredibly privileged to be playing our own small part in proceedings. On Thursday 29th February, CSM’s Matt Vandrau, Kevin Vandrau, Mike Vandrau and Charlie McEwen will all be joining Craig on day 16 of the challenge, walking 26 miles alongside him from St. Davids to Nolton Haven to help raise money in the fight against cancer.

If you are able to, we would love you to show your support for Craig, Matt, Kev, Mike Charlie and the Maxwell Fund by making any donation you can.
