I've been volunteering at the Destitute Animal Shelter in Bolton for over a year now. See above for a brilliant description of exactly what the shelter does. My own little furry buddy Hugo was taken into the shelter in January 2025, and I adopted him very soon after we met!

In 2025 I organised a 24 hour Ultra Driathlon, and we raised almost £2000 for the shelter (thanks to our amazing friends and family for their kindness and generosity). I felt it was only right to hatch a similarly ridiculous plan for 2026....

So, in July, at Performance 58 gym, I will be completing the 2026 ULTRA ERG CHALLENGE - 10,000 CALORIES FOR TIME.

It will be a solo effort this time, and there will be no time cap - so it'll take ... as long as it takes! I'm sticking to a similar format to the original erg Driathlon, but slightly modified - 2500 cal ski, 4000 cal bike, 3500 cal row. I have no clue how long this will actually take me, but there will be a sweepstake for the closest guess to the correct time, and an epic prize for the winner (yet to be decided...)
