Story
This July, Sharena & I are challenging challenging ourselves to walk 10,000 steps every day to raise money for Speak Their Name, a charity dedicated to suicide awareness, prevention, and supporting those affected by suicide.
We are doing this in memory of my friend, Aaron, who sadly took his own life in 2021.
Aaron was someone who genuinely cared about others. He always looked out for his friends, made people feel welcome, and put others before himself. I want this challenge to celebrate who he was and ensure that his name—and the names of so many others lost to suicide—continue to be spoken.
Our fundraising target is £711, a number inspired by the 7,011 days that Aaron and I were friends. While We'd love to raise £7,011 one day, we wanted to set a realistic goal that we can achieve together.
Suicide affects far too many families, friends, colleagues and communities. By supporting this fundraiser, you’re helping to raise awareness, encourage conversations about mental health, and support a charity that is working to save lives.
Thank you for reading, for donating if you can, and for helping to keep Aaron’s memory alive.
Every step counts. Every conversation matters. Every life is precious.
