Story

Hi, it’s Josh and Alec here. We’ve decided to go on a 1,000 mile cycle tour in 14 days around Europe, to raise funds for the Swaffham & Litcham Home Hospice.

Swaffham & Litcham Home Hospice provides free care to patients who have cancer or terminal illnesses. The reason we have chosen to fundraise for them is that sadly Alec’s mother Sharon passed away in April of this year from cancer, and the Swaffham & Litcham Home Hospice provided her with care during her illness.

With COVID, there is a lot of uncertainty but we wanted to support the hospice so that they can continue giving care and support to those who need it, just like they did with Sharon.

We’ll be setting off on the 8th September and we hope to cycle through 6 countries: England, The Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and France. We plan to find accommodation as we go along, which will probably be in the form of Airbnbs. We’ll also be vlogging the whole experience so you can watch our journey on Josh’s YouTube channel .

We do have a backup plan if restrictions are heightened due to COVID, which will involve a route around the UK. Nonetheless, the challenge of 1,000 miles will be completed!

We’ve got about 5 weeks left to train for this challenge and we’re going to give it our all. We’d really appreciate any donations no matter how big or small. If you’re not able to donate, we’d love it if you could share our story.

All donations go to the Swaffham & Litcham Home Hospice
