Raising money for Hospitality Action and Switchboard

Story

Hello! For some reason, we've chosen to turn 2025 into one huge adventurous challenge, and we'd love your support in raising money for two very special charities to get us through it!

On 23rd May, Dad sets off on his biggest ride yet: 1,000 miles and more elevation than Everest. He’ll leave home in Bristol and cycle all the way to France.

Ellie and Joe will meet him in Bordeaux to continue the journey—cycling along the coast, into Spain, over the Pyrenees, (with a quick ferry hop over the water) into Mallorca to ride the length of the Island.

While we're at it, (!) Ellie and Bru are taking part in Alucudia's 70.3 Ironman race on 10th May. Their first triathlon will see them swim 2k, cycle 90km, and run a half marathon.

We'll be raising money for two great causes:

Hospitality Action provides financial, physical and psychological support to those in the hospitality sector. Behind their smiles and slick service, hospitality workers can fall upon hard times just like anybody else. It's a stressful industry with long hours, high pressure environments and physically demanding work. We've seen at first hand the meaningful work they do.

Switchboard the LGBT+ Helpline is a confidential helpline open to the LGBTQ+ communities and beyond. It's so critical that we talk about mental health, tackle stigmas and work to reduce levels of loneliness across the LGBTQ+ communities now more than ever. For obvious reasons, the lines have been inundated in the last few weeks, so all the support is needed to fund this vital service.

The BIGGEST THANK YOU to everyone that has donated so far. You can follow the adventure on instagram @roadtobuger .

With love from the Balls x
