Since 2009 the staff, customers and friends of the Fleming Arms, Biggar have chosen to support MacMillan by organising various events to raise as much money as possible for the amazing work that MacMillan do. All money raised here will be used locally in the Lanarkshire area to support cancer sufferers, their families, friends and colleagues.

The total raised over the last 10 years amounts to £19k. An ambitious fund raising plan was formulated late in 2019 with the view of raising a further £11k during 2020. Sadly our plans were severely affected by the unprecedented events this year. A few virtual pub quizzes were held and proved very popular. One of our number, William (Billy) Lumsden, completed the virtual Great North Run on 13 September 2020, making that 20 in a row for him! Any donations to Billy for this amazing achievement will be gratefully received.

We are going to move our calendar on 12 months so that we can achieve our target in 2021. As the situation moves on we will keep you posted with our activities. Look out for details of our MacMillan coffee morning coming later in September 2020.
