Story
Thanks for visiting our page.
On the 27th September 2022 we lost our beautiful Mum Dawn Blackburn unexpectedly to Heart Failure. In memory of Mum and to raise awareness about the importance of living an active lifestyle a group of family and friends have decided to brave the Yorkshire Three Peaks on the 9th September.
We are raising money for the British Heart Foundation and Butterflies Dementia Support and Activities Group and would be so grateful for your support.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, Mum had undiagnosed heart disease and if we had known about this earlier she may have had more time with us so we would like to give others the opportunity to have more time with their loved ones.
Butterflies Dementia Support and Activity Group is a local project based in Barnsley which supports people living with a diverse range of illnesses and learning difficulties, and people who are lonely and isolated. The funding will provide a range of social and support activities that will bring people together to build strong relationships, improve physical health and wellbeing and reduce loneliness. Mum spent many years caring for our wonderful Nanan who suffered with Dementia and groups like this would have been such a benefit to them both and a cause she would have been proud to support.
Please help us in raising some money for these causes in memory of Mum all donations are gratefully received.
How to donate:
Click the link to donate to a team member and you can choose to donate to either the British Heart Foundation or the Butterflies Dementia Group (or split your donation over both would be wonderful).
Thanks
