🏔️ The Challenge: Climbing Pen Y Fan Ten Times in 24 Hours through the night! 🏔️
Dear Friends, Family, and Adventure Enthusiasts,
Join us on an epic adventure (or over-enthusiastic ramble) as 8 brave souls take on 10YFan!
From dusk til’ dawn we will be scaling the iconic peak of Pen Y Fan, not once or twice, but TEN TIMES repeatedly over 24 hours. That’s right, TEN times UP and TEN times DOWN. And through the night!
Pen Y Fan stands at an impressive 2,907 feet…now multiply that by ten, and you’ll have climbed the equivalent of Everest! While this comparison might seem questionable, it underscores the enormity of our challenge and the spirit and determination that drives us. Or as one of our team members eloquently puts it; “spite is a wonderful driver”.

Why 10YFan?
In November 2023, Dr. Andrew Killen, a Brazilian Jujitsu ninja, persuaded his lovely colleagues through blackmail, threatening to withhold his homemade chili sauce if we didn't comply. Since then, we've all become outdoor enthusiasts, buying walking poles (unbelievable!), discussing outdoor gear endlessly, and even taking up activities like hiking Kilvey Hill on random Tuesdays. We've also trained by climbing Pen Y Fan numerous times, showing a serious commitment despite our jovial attitude.
But 10YFan isn't just about reaching the summit—it's about embracing the journey, celebrating every climb, and challenging ourselves to new ‘heights’. Pun intended. It’s also about the camaraderie, trust and respect we all have for each other—not just as work colleagues but as valued friends, and making memories that will last a lifetime. Whether we conquer one climb or tackle all ten, our accomplishments will be nothing short of amazing.
Meet the Team:
Andrew Killen (Dr Big Slice), Neil Cunningham (FOAMO), Richard Morgan (Gongoozler), Luca Pagano (the Italian pit-pony), Gareth May (D20), Lisa Lucas (the Nerd Whisperer), Charlotte Anstee (Lisa's Bestie, repping EV) & Glyn Jenkins (the Animator)
How You Can Help
We're not just climbing for the thrill of it—we're also raising funds for the following charities:
Tenovus Cancer Care - a Wales-based charity ‘giving help, hope, and a voice to everyone affected by cancer’.
Hospice of the Valley's - a Blaenau Gwent Hospice, caring for over 500 people every year with a team of specialist palliative care professionals, dedicated to providing hospice care.
Stepping Stones - they provide a 24-hour service of care for adults with autism and learning disabilities that have been assessed to ‘need assistance’ to meet their personal, social and care needs.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to our fundraising goal and helps us positively impact the lives of others. Your support means the world to us.
Thank you for being a part of our adventure!
Team Oh-No! 😊
