Story
On 23rd May 2026, Me, Nina Gandy, and Michelle Morris are going to be running 50 miles (80KM) for Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
For a while now, I've wanted to do something difficult to raise money for this fantastic charity and what better year to do it than in their 50th year.
50 miles for 50 years.
I've been working with and supporting the hospice for more than 10 years now, and in that time, I've had the privilege of meeting lots of the people who have been impacted by the amazing care that the hospice provides.
Earlier this year, a patient called Justin said he wanted to share his story to help raise money for the cause in the future. I had the honour of filming with Justin and his wife Kate, and their story has stuck with me.
Trevor, whose wife received palliative care during the last year of her life from the Hospice At Home team. Since losing his wife, Trevor has been volunteering for the hospice as a driver for patients, a befriender of patients who are being cared for at home, and an events volunteer. His passion for giving back is infectious.
Fibi is a patient we filmed with who was absolutely petrified of hospice care until she actually went. It was exactly what she needed and enabled her to live every moment during the last year of her life.
And honestly, the team. I have no words.
The clinical staff who are genuinely real-life angels caring for the patients and their families day-to-day, and the fundraising gang who I get to work with every week. These guys have to work so hard with a target of £4.5 million a year to keep the hospice running.
The thing is... none of us know if we're going to need hospice care.
Or when someone we love might need it.
Having a hospice in our local community is something never to take for granted, and next year I'm looking forward to making my own contribution to keeping such important care going.
It's worth running 50 miles for.
Even if the thought of it currently makes me want to curl up in a ball 😅.
I ran a marathon 12 years ago and vowed never again.
How the tables have turned! 🙈
I'm about 6 weeks into training and already starting to realise I'm quite naive when it comes to this challenge.
My 10km last week nearly finished me off, and the distances are about to get much, much bigger.
For context, my biggest training run will need to be 31 MILES!!!
I'll be documenting the progress over on my Instagram (@dailywithbrady) Let's be honest, it's probably going to be quite entertaining.
As I said at the start, I'm not doing this alone.
The lovely Nina and Michelle will be running with me.
We're aiming to raise £3,000.
If there is anything you can donate, we'd be super grateful 🫶🏼
£1, £5, £10, or more. All of it makes a difference.
We will also be giving people the opportunity to sponsor some of our miles, so if this is something you'd be interested in, you can email me at hannah@thebradycreative.co.uk.
Thanks for reading.
We'll be keeping you posted.
Lessss gooooo 👊🏼
