Story

Supporting Our Mum and Grandpa: Together Against Glioblastoma

This year, my family and friends are uniting for a cause that is deeply personal and urgent. Two of the most important people in our lives, my mum and my grandpa, have both recently been diagnosed with glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer.

Their strength, courage, and unwavering love inspire us every day. We are determined to honor them while raising funds to support vital research and care through The Brain Tumour Charity.

With your help, we can make a real difference.

🎨 Creativity Meets Courage: The Paintathon

On January 2, we launched this campaign with a special event: a 12-hour Paintathon led by Sophie, who dedicated the day before her birthday to honoring my mum and grandpa.

From 9 AM to 9 PM, Sophie created a stunning painting symbolizing love, strength, and hope—the very qualities my mum and grandpa embody every day.

The painting was auctioned from January 3 to 4, raising an incredible £4,000 for our cause. But we are not stopping there. This is just the beginning of our journey to reach an ambitious goal of £10,000.

💪A Challenge Like No Other: Joe’s Half Marathon Mission

Next, Joe has taken on a powerful challenge: running a half marathon every day for seven days, culminating with the Newcastle Half Marathon on February 1.

But he is not doing it alone. On the final day, Sophie, along with family and friends, will join Joe for the Newcastle race—some running the half marathon, others completing a 10K. Together, we will close this incredible journey, united in honor of my mum, my grandpa, and everyone impacted by glioblastoma.
