Story
Stefan and I are taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) again this year and if we’re honest, we’ve both got our eyes on a shiny new PB.
We ran it last year for Tommy's and it definitely taught us a few things (mainly not to go off too fast and to respect those final miles!). This time around, we feel fitter, more consistent with our training and a lot more prepared for what race day throws at us.
We’re aiming to finish somewhere between 2:30 and 2:45, which would be a big improvement on last year and a real sign that the early mornings and long runs have paid off. Having each other to train with (and occasionally moan to!) has made a huge difference there’s nothing like a bit of friendly pressure to keep you going.
Even more importantly, we’re running to raise much-needed funds for Starlight Barking, a charity that rescues neglected and abandoned dogs in Greece and Cyprus. Knowing that every mile can help give a dog a second chance makes the training feel even more worthwhile.
So while we’re definitely chasing better times, it’s about more than the clock. It’s about pushing ourselves, doing something positive, and hopefully making a small difference along the way.
