Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running the Shakespeare Marathon and Great Manchester Run in memory of two friends this Spring. I'd really appreciate your support for two amazing charities associated with their memory.
Shakespeare Marathon ✅
Tom
Tom and I went to school together- he was easy-going, funny and loved to take his top off after a pint. He was a man of great athletic feats- I've never seen a ball struck harder than the one he put past the coach at Brazilian Soccer Schools circa age 12, nor have I seen a human being move as fast as he did when making off with a beach ball in the early hours of the morning at YNOT music festival. Tom tragically lost his life to cardiac arrest whilst playing football in 2018 at the age of 23.
The Tom Henson Charity
Set up in Tom's memory, The Tom Henson Charity is putting defibrillators into communities across the UK to ensure they are readily available in the event of cardiac arrest- a moment when every second really does count. Read more about their work here: https://www.thetomhensoncharity.co.uk/.

Jordan
Jordan and I met on a ski season in Verbier- he was lively, he was fun, and he was way too tall to be a snowboarder. I’ll always remember our time spent boarding, playing Fifa, and catching up on the footy. Jordan tragically lost his life to suicide in 2023, at the age of 28.
James' Place
James’ Place saves the lives of men in suicidal crisis by offering free, life-saving treatment at centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle (https://www.jamesplace.org.uk/). Friends cycled from Anfield to Verbier in memory of Jordan last year- it's not too late to support their incredible achievement: https://www.instagram.com/bikeforbez/.

The spiel:
"Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity."
Unfortunately, what JustGiving can't do is allow me to undertake one fundraise to be split between the two charities. And I can't fundraise a single pot delinked from the charities themselves because that would risk them missing out on GiftAid (which means an extra 25% donation to the charity, most often at no cost to you!).
My ambition ideally is to generate equal support for both charities through my fundraise, so please can I ask that if you're generous enough to sponsor my efforts you submit your donation to whichever pot is looking lighter at the time- you can click through to both from this main page.
Thank you so much for your support x
