The Wave Project has been running in Devon for 8 years we've had amazing support from Children In Need etc over the years but this year we currently haven't got any big grants. Our fundraising is more important than ever. We have a campaign to raise £22k for 2022!

By doing the "22 Challenge" we are ask people to challenge themselves to 22 different things e.g. going for 22 cold water dips, 22 surfs/SUPs, having 22 people to a coffee morning, walking 22 miles of coast path. We'd love to see your ideas! We've also got people doing different takes on this.

To take part in this challenge and join our team:

1) Click on "Join the team" on the top right of the page.

2) Set up your personal JustGiving page to share with your friends and family. (When they donate on your page, it will add to the big pot on our team page.)

3) Decide on whatever you want to do 22 of (or tell us about your challenge)! This can be 22 of anything, 22 cold water dips, 22 press ups, 22 minutes of swimming, cycling, running, skating, surfing or a bit of everything - get creative and do it however you like!

4) Don’t forget to share the moment with us when you complete your challenge. We’d also love to see pictures of you in action!

A little about Wave Project in case you've not heard of us... Wave Project is a registered charity that supports children and young people who experience a range of physical and mental health issues, social deprivation or social isolation. They are referred and can attend our courses and surf clubs and are supported through surfing to build confidence and self-esteem, develop resilience, and make friends. Find out more

What does £22k look like, it allows for us to pay for 80 surf club/surf therapy sessions which cost £15,000 to surf schools plus the cost of core staff for those sessions, it would be fantastic to know we have the money to be able to be able to commit to these sessions.

Whilst this might seem an unrealistic challenge but we really believe we can do it if we all pull together. We have 7000 volunteers, 1012 surf club parents/carers and 2039 referrers in The Wave Project, and we really need your help with this.
