We are eight members of the Glasgow Helping Hands Committee in Hymans Robertson. We have agreed, in a moment of madness and with a large heart (but mostly a moment of madness), to brave the cold February weather and sleep out overnight to raise much-needed funds for our local Glasgow City Mission. We will experience similar conditions to many of the Mission’s clients that live with this long-term – except we are only doing it for one night. It will bring the homeless’ plight closer to our understanding.
We will be sleeping rough on the rooftop (!) of the GCM building, which is fully open to the elements, so we will have to be prepared for whatever the weather brings!
Our aim is to raise a substantial sum from this sleep-out (previous teams have created a serious challenge – raising £7k!!) so we ask you all to dig deep, spare a thought for us, and donate as much as you can.
Please also pray that the rain and snow stays away on Thursday 13 February!!
