Thanks for taking the time to visit the National Grid Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge Team JustGiving page.
Macmillan is our employee chosen charity and at the start of our partnership in 2014 we set ourselves a bold target of raising £500k over two years. The great news is that we raised over £290k in our first year and this is down to all the great (and sometimes wacky) things our employees did. This year our employees are planning a challenging one-day hike to tackle the three highest peaks in Yorkshire so that we can reach our fundraising target and ultimately smash it!
Nearly one in five people with cancer turn off the heating, even though they're cold, because they're worried about paying their energy bills. So all the money we raise will go towards providing emergency fuel grants for cancer patients across the UK. The average grant is £200 so if we reach our target it means that 2,500 families will be able to keep 'warm without the worry'.
To help boost our fundraising efforts for Macmillan Cancer Support, during the remaining year of our partnership, National Grid has agreed to match all funds raised 100%. So there's never been a better time to donate and help make a difference to the lives of those people affected by cancer.
Many thanks,
Your colleagues and friends at National Grid.
