Hello!

Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page. We work at IPS OT, and we’ve joined together to raise money for MNDA.

One by one, lambs to the slaughter. What a nice idea, lovely views, fresh air, get fit, team building and loads of money for our charity. These were the initial thoughts until the reality set in of lots of hills, lots of rain and lots of pain .... but it will all be worthwhile when we are super fit and have donated a heap of dosh to help our amazing charity.

The Route

The route we will take starts at Whitehaven on the Irish Sea, tradition has it that you dip your rear tyre on the slip way and finishes at Sunderland where you dip your front tyre in the north sea to complete the journey. The days are made up as follows

Day 1 -. The day involves cycling along the old railway line and into the country and through the lakes along the banks of Loweswater - up Whinlater pass to the highest forest in England .Then cycle up Keswick main street and out towards the moors towards the first stop at Graystoke - famous for the Tarzan movies and its pub.

Day 2 -  Cycle through Penrith and the Eden Valley with its lush valleys and sandstone villages. It then starts the climb up to Hartside Pass and onto the Northern Penninesthe "roof of England". There then follows an undulating ride as the C2C goes through old lead-mining villages, such as Garrigill and , Nenthead , there are 3 big climbs Hartside Pass, the climb out of Garrigill and the climb out of Nenthead and we finish in Allenheads.

Day 3 - There's steep climb out of Allenheads. Then cross from Northumbria to Co Durham and at the village of Rookhope you have a choice - over Bolts law which is a rough track (push) or through Stanley with the steep long climb up Crawleyside- the choice will be down to what bike you are using - road bikes do Crawleyside the rest Bolts Law. Both routes meet again at Petershead Café and from then you notice that things become a bit more scenic and is predominantly downhill from there to Sunderland.

You'll see our team fundraising target on the right. By donating to one of our fundraising pages (listed below), you can help us smash this goal and really make a difference.
